mollusc is a collection of pure-Rust libraries for parsing, interpreting, and analyzing LLVM.

Crate	Version	Description
`llvm-bitcursor`		A no-frills cursor library for reading fields from a bitstream.
`llvm-bitstream`		A content-agnostic parser for LLVM's bitstream container format.
`llvm-constants`		A collection of numeric and enum constants useful across multiple crates in the mollusc ecosystem.
`llvm-support`		Support types and routines for parsing LLVM's bitcode.
`llvm-mapper`		A library for mapping the contents of bitstreams into LLVM IR models.
Not implemented.	N/A	A high level interface for interacting with LLVM IR.

My type table state machine thingy is a little bit wrong, since it doesn't correctly handle forward-referenced types (e.g. if a pointer type has struct foo as its pointee).

Mash `llvm-constants` into `llvm-support`

I should have thought this through a little more: it doesn't really make sense to have an independent llvm-constants crate, since almost all of the constants and enums within it play a support role that llvm-support is already intended to provide. So maybe it makes sense to mash these together and kill off the llvm-constants crate.

Parse the value symbol tables
Function mapping (#25) requires this, so I can't make meaningful progress on functions until this is done.

Just some notes to myself:

parseValueSymbolTable in LLVM's bitcode reader

MODULE_CODE_VSTOFFSET tells LLVM's bitcode reader where the module-level VST is, but we don't need that in our case (since we do eager parsing); however, we should still validate that there's exactly one MODULE_CODE_VSTOFFSET

Get rid of the mapping traits

CtxMappable and PartialCtxMappable have outlived their usefulness -- they should be replaced with TryFrom<PartialMapCtx> and TryFrom<MapCtx>, as well as other TryFroms where appropriate.

Help the compiler optimize our mapping code
rustc can recognize the following pattern:

assert!(slice.len() >= SOMETHING); let _ = slice[0]; let _ = slice[1..N];

...and emit only one bounds check (for the initial assert!) instead of one per index/slice operation. We make heavy use of individual/slice indexing throughout the mapper, so we should use assert! judiciously wherever we can.

That being said, we should make sure that our current pattern isn't already providing this optimization, namely:
