esp-idf-part

A library for parsing and generating ESP-IDF partition tables. Supports parsing from and generating to both CSV and binary formats.

This package started its life as a module in espflash, however it has undergone some fairly extensive changes since being extracted into its own crate. A big thanks to all who contributed to that module, as their work helped make this library possible.

This library is reasonably well tested, however if you have a partition table which is not handled correctly by this library then please open an issue.

how would one use this?

i currently need to increase the app partition size as the default 1MB is to small, how would i do this, using this library?

without using this library i would create the .csv by hand and apply it via cargo pio espidf menuconfig

Improve documentation

There should be reasonably complete descriptions of each type, and the top-level documentation should contains some basic examples and much more information than it currently does.

Add test cases which we expect to fail

Currently our tests are run on input which is assumed to be correct. It would be good to add some intentionally invalid partition tables to ensure that parsing fails as expected.
